Applying for your Domain Name
All applications for a .gov.uk domain must be made through your Internet Service Provider (ISP). There are a limited number of Cabinet Office Approved Internet Service Providers (ISPs) that offer .gov.uk domain names. Costs and services offered vary from ISP to ISP, so if you are arranging your own domain name, please take care in selecting a service that will allow you to redirect your domain to an alternative server (i.e. the Parishcouncil.net server). Please email us if you have any questions regaring ISPs.
This service costs just £24.99 for the first year, and £4.99 for administration purposes for each following year. You may cancel this subscription at any time free of charge.
If you do not want to have a website made by ParishCouncil.net, we can just provide you with a domain name and emails. Please read on for more information...
You can make your application for a .net domain directly to Parishcouncil.net. Please email us with the name of your Parish Council, and we will reserve it for you. If you are happy with your choice of domain name, on confirmation we will set up your email accounts and direct your domain name to the relevant server space. A .parishcouncil.net domain costs just £4.99 per year. You may cancel this subscription at any time free of charge, though the domain will revert back to Parishcouncil.net.
You can either order a different domain type from Parishcouncil.net, or have your existing domain redirected to the Parishcouncil.net webspace (where your website is stored). It is free to redirect existing domain names to your Parishcouncil.net website. For prices of alternative domain types, see the table below.
