Centenary Hall on Wheelers Lane in Smallfield is a fantastic facility in the heart of the village.
General Description
The Hall is a modern building which was formally opened in November 1995 by Dame Judy Dench and the late Michael Williams. There are 3 rooms for hire including a large and fully functioning kitchen with a serving hatch into the main hall and a smaller kitchenette attached to another room. All the facilities are on one level and have good wheelchair access. There are separate toilet facilities for Ladies, Gentlemen and a separate disabled toilet complete with alarm
The Rooms
Burstow Hall - the Main Hall is available for hire all week in the day and the evening. It is 21m x 9.3m (71ft x 30ft) and has a fully functioning large kitchen. This hall is great for sports clubs and already hosts a number of adult and children's activities, including Karate, Badminton; Dance - from Salsa to ballet, Tap to modern dancing; Keep fit and Yoga. There is an optional stage with a wardrobe room behind and the heating of the Hall has just been renovated. The Hall can accommodate 150 theatre style, 100 banquet style and 306 standing - eg for a dance. It is also a fantastic venue for a children's party, a wedding reception or an evening party. We have a list of local suppliers to help you with your arrangements.
The Outwood Room - 6m x 5.4m (24ft x 20ft) has been recently refurbished and now provides a perfect business meeting room. There are meeting tables which can comfortably accommodate 20 people and the room can also be used for presentation and can seat 30 in theatre style. This room is also set up for wifi access and we can provide a screen and points for projector. Coffee and drinks may be provided and outside catering if desired. The room is also suitable for other clubs or activities in the evenings.
The Margaret Pavely Room is only available in the evening for hire as it is used for a playgroup in the day. The room is 11.7m x 5.4m (39ft x 16ft). It is also available for hire at the weekends, as is the whole Hall for social functions (children's parties, family celebrations) and for meetings of clubs or associations.
Car Parking
There are marked spaces for over 55 cars plus two disabled bays and in order to provide security, the car park is covered by CCTV and the area is well lit after dark.
