Codnor Bonfire Night

Community Bonfire and Firework Display will take place on Friday November 4th at the Codnor Sports and Social Club site on Goose Lane, Codnor, commencing at 6.00p.m.

This free event is now in its 12th year and is a registered event with the Derbyshire County Council scheme.

The programme is as follows :-

6.00 p.m. Children's fair rides commence courtesy of Bert Holland,
7.00 p.m. Best Guy Fawkes competition judged,
7.30 p.m. the fire will be lit by Judy Mallaber M.P.
8.00 p.m. a magnificent Firework Display by Dr. Stuart Russell who is one of Europe's leading Pyrotechnic experts.

Barbecue food is available at a minimal cost with a free Disco for the really young children in the Social Club. The whole event is sponsored by Codnor Parish Council in conjunction with the Social Club, AVBC, Rotary Club and the Codnor Scouts. St.Johns Ambulance and the Police will also be in attendance. Please note that there is NO public on-site car parking.

As usual there will be a collection taken as you leave, this is normally shared among the organisations which have helped at the event - scouts & ventures, St John's Ambulance service, the special constables, and Ripley Fire Station. Without them we would not be able to hold the event so please support them generously.
